I was recently asked to create a piece with the famous Edgar Alan Poe by my new friend Robin. She just received it and loved it. I make it a bit 3-D so you can see witches and a cracked spider web Poe in the framed piece. I loved making it and more importantly, I’m glad she loved it.

Another group of people loved this piece I made so if you want anything with Edgar, let me know fast! Hit me up if you want a spooky/Halloween piece or anything below or through my social media.

Gargoyle Candy Jars

I’m so excited to announce that I sold my first batch of orders of my GARGOYLE CANDY JARS! I don’t remember if I posted about these jars I was making in my previous GARGOYLE post but the jars can be used for candy of course but if you don’t want to put candy in them, they are great 6 oz. jars for trinkets, other spooky related items, and more. The possibilities are endless.

Here is an example of one of my satisfied customers, Nancy. She was so kind enough to send me a photo of her jar as an example. Her’s was clear but I make fully covered ones too. Another satisfied customer Lauren sent me her photo too of her jar which I’m glad she loved.

There’s a few reasons I chose gargoyles is because I LOVE GARGOYLES. I still have one I bought in Paris when I was 17. Since Halloween is approaching, I’ll definitely be able working on spooky style pieces, more than usual. I thought making my own  6 Oz. candy jars would be a great idea. They will be very versatile so if you don’t want to use them for candy, you can keep trinkets, bath salts, charms, herbs, and a lot more in them.

A lot of people who make crafts for Halloween use mostly pumpkins, black cats, skulls, etc. I thought it would be really unique to use gargoyles for my jar lids, especially since I’ve always felt connected to them. I’ve loved gargoyles since I was little and I was lucky to buy one at the Notre-Dame de Paris. That was the first time  I went there in 2000. I already have six orders for these cute Halloween candy jars. The best thing about them is that you don’t have to put candy in them if you don’t want them. They are reusable and you can put trinkets, spooky charms, affirmations, etc. You can definitely get creative with them with what you want to put inside.

I am going to start making these gargoyle halloween jars this week and will post pictures of some of the items I will be using to create this unique one of a kind jars. I’m giving you a sneak peek of my cute gargoyles and head stones. If you’re interested in purchasing one of these, leave a comment below.

Spooky Jewelry Box that I made for Jen Lightfoot

Have you guessed yet that Halloween is my favorite holiday? I am absolutely in love with this handmade spooky Halloween-themed box by Carlie Sorat! The attention to detail is insane with the unique silver spiderweb pendants, intricate overlapping of images and text, and the steampunk-style latch key.

I’m currently using this spooky box as a home for some of my jewelry, but it can be used to hold a number of different items (I almost used it to store art supplies!). Carlie’s gorgeous boxes are one-of-a-kind and each one is individually handmade. The colors are vibrant and I love the retro, occult, and vintage Halloween-vibe of this box.

I have a lot of necklaces so I’m always looking for practical (yet stylish!) ways to store them. I don’t really wear bracelets or rings very much and I don’t have pierced ears so no earrings for me, but I love necklaces — especially big statement necklaces. They get tangled easily though so I have multiple jewelry boxes. This one is great for those really large necklaces that don’t fit in my other jewelry boxes.

Halloween is my all-time favorite holiday! I was actually super scared of a lot of the costumes when I was a little kid — I even made my cousin take off part of his makeup at the dinner table. He had a realistic bleeding gash on his cheek and it grossed me out so much lol. As I got older though, especially in my early teens, I really started to love the idea of dressing up and watching scary movies on Halloween. There’s something about Halloween’s dark and creepy yet sometimes whimsical imagery that I’m really drawn to.

Of course I wanted a horror-themed box, but Carlie can make boxes with a ton of different themes! She is always taking commissions, and she is super sweet! For your own custom handmade box, contact Carlie at chaas66@aol.com

Carlie is also a pinup model and writes about pinup fashion with a rock n’ roll edge on her blog, bombshell2016.blog.

Jen
